Have you wondered why some of the search items have pictures in front of them? The picture really makes the search result stand out, isn't it?
This is the power of Google Authorship - allowing your pictures to appear in the Google Search Result. It's all FREE! All you need to do is some setup as outlined below.
Setting up Google Authorship
Setting up Google Authorship is surprisingly easy and straightforward.
- Sign up for a Google+ account if you don't have one yet: Google+
- Set Up your Google+ Profile
- Upload a photo to your profile. This photo is the one that will appear in the Google search result.
- On the top menu, view profile as "Yourself", then click the About tab.
- In the "Links" Panel, click "Edit"
- In the popup window, under "Contributor To", click "Add custom link" and enter your website address e.g. yuchenkuang.com
- Click "Save". You should see your website address appearing in the "Contributor to" section as shown below:
- For each of your webpage, add the following to the <HEAD> section of your page:
